It seems like in the world of healthcare interpreting, there are so many certifications and trainings to keep up on. Not only do our language kills need to be sharp, we also have to know our interpreting skills like the back of our hands. If that wasn’t enough, members of the healthcare team must also be trained in many aspects of the healthcare environment. I was so glad to check HIPAA certification off my list this week. Is this a training that you could benefit from as well?
HIPAA Certification Now Up to Date
This week, I took the HIPAA training with ProTrainings.com. HIPPA stands for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, and went into effect in the late ’90s to protect patients personal information. Leaked health information is surprisingly valuable on the black market, and this law was put into place to protect healthcare consumers defend themselves against theft of their personal information. This information is extremely important for anyone who works in the healthcare environment, as we are all responsible for protecting private patient information.
If you don’t know what HIPAA is, or maybe could just use a refresher, you should take the training on ProTrainings.com. Use my code to get a discount on any one of their trainings:

Are you trained in HIPAA? Did you take the trainings on ProTrainings.com or from another provider? I’d be interested to know what resources others are using to learn about the HIPAA requirements, so please leave a comment down below to share.
